Gods of the Internet (or demons), please please please pretty please take their bandwidth and connections away...I cannot stand flash sites. No more flash sites unless there is a purpose. Please please please please. I am a poor soul that navigates with the right button, uses the Internet for research and opens links in a new browser window 80% of the time. I cannot do that without the right mouse button. I navigate exclusive with the right mouse button, I go with the right mouse button, I bookmark with the right mouse button, I debug with the right mouse button. I do not want to "download" your stinking pictures, they are already in my cache folder.

Trying to fin...

Trying to finish a rough draft of the article today...Another personality test (this one sounds fairly right):Your Keirsey Temperament is: Rational (NT)The Rational PortraitAll Rationals (NTs) share the following core characteristics: Rationals tend to be pragmatic, skeptical, self-contained, and focused on problem-solving and systems analysis. Rationals pride themselves on being ingenious, independent, and strong willed. Rationals make reasonable mates, individualizing parents, and strategic leaders. Rationals are even-tempered, they trust logic, yearn for achievement, seek knowledge, prize technology, and dream of understanding how the world works. Rationals are the problem solving temperament, particularly if the problem has to do with the many complex systems that make up the world around us. Rationals might tackle problems in organic systems such as plants and animals, or in mechanical systems such as railroads and computers, or in social systems such as families and companies and governments. But whatever systems fire their curiosity, Rationals will analyze them to understand how they work, so they can figure out how to make them work better. In working with problems, Rationals try to find solutions that have application in the real world, but they are even more interested in the abstract concepts involved, the fundamental principles or natural laws that underlie the particular case. And they are completely pragmatic about their ways and means of achieving their ends. Rationals don't care about being politically correct. They are interested in the most efficient solutions possible, and will listen to anyone who has something useful to teach them, while disregarding any authority or customary procedure that wastes time and resources. Rationals have an insatiable hunger to accomplish their goals and will work tirelessly on any project they have set their mind to. They are rigorously logical and fiercely independent in their thinking--are indeed skeptical of all ideas, even their own--and they believe they can overcome any obstacle with their will power. Often they are seen as cold and distant, but this is really the absorbed concentration they give to whatever problem they're working on. Whether designing a skyscraper or an experiment, developing a theory or a prototype technology, building an aircraft, a corporation, or a strategic alliance, Rationals value intelligence, in themselves and others, and they pride themselves on the ingenuity they bring to their problem solving. Rationals are very scarce, comprising as little as 5 to 7 percent of the population. But because of their drive to unlock the secrets of nature, and to develop new technologies, they have done much to shape our world. The four types of Rationals are:Architects | Fieldmarshals | Inventors | Masterminds

Sleepy... another long night. Sleep, sleep, beauty bright, Dreaming in the joys of night; Sleep, sleep, in thy sleep Little sorrows sit and weep. Sweet babe, in thy face Soft desires I can trace, Secret joys and secret smiles, Little pretty infant wiles. Sleep, sleep, beauty bright, Dreaming in the joys of night; Sleep, sleep; in thy sleep Little sorrows sit and weep.--William Blake

The power of breakfast?

I woke up with a very strange urge today:I wanted to have (no 'wanted' is not the right word... I needed a full warm breakfast. My usual breakfast is a pot of strong Mocca Java. So I end up making toast, hash browns and eggs (a la 'this is your brain on drugs'). It really really really hit the spot. wow!I have so much energy right now. I think that I will go painting...

Song of the day

Suzanne Suzanne takes you down to her place near the river You can hear the boats go by You can spend the night beside her And you know that she's half crazy But that's why you want to be there And she feeds you tea and oranges That come all the way from China And just when you mean to tell her That you have no love to give her Then she gets you on her wavelength And she lets the river answer That you've always been her lover And you want to travel with her And you want to travel blind And you know that she will trust you For you've touched her perfect body with your mind. And Jesus was a sailor When he walked upon the water And he spent a long time watching From his lonely wooden tower And when he knew for certain Only drowning men could see him He said "All men will be sailors then Until the sea shall free them" But he himself was broken Long before the sky would open Forsaken, almost human He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone And you want to travel with him And you want to travel blind And you think maybe you'll trust him For he's touched your perfect body with his mind. Now Suzanne takes your hand And she leads you to the river She is wearing rags and feathers From Salvation Army counters And the sun pours down like honey On our lady of the harbour And she shows you where to look Among the garbage and the flowers There are heroes in the seaweed There are children in the morning They are leaning out for love And they will lean that way forever While Suzanne holds the mirror And you want to travel with her And you want to travel blind And you know that you can trust her For she's touched your perfect body with her mind.

I got t...

I got this in my mailbox this morning... What a riot!---------->> What would happen if suddenly, magically, men could menstruate and womencould not?>> The answer is clear: menstruation would become an enviable, boast-worthy,masculine event. Men would brag about how long and how much.>> Boys would mark the onset of menses, that longed-for proof of manhood, with religious ritual and stag parties.>> Congress would fund a National Institute of Dysmenorrhea to help stamp outmonthly discomforts. Sanitary supplies would be federally funded and free.(Of course, some men would still pay for the prestige of commercial brandssuch as John Wayne Tampons, Muhammed Ali's Rope-a-dope Pads, Joe Namath JockShields - "For Those Light Bachelor Days," and Robert "Baretta" BlakeMaxi-Pads.)>> Military men, right-wing politicians, and religious fundamentalists wouldcite menstruation ("MENstruation") as proof that only men could serve in thearmy ("you have to give blood to take blood"), occupy political office ("canwomen be aggressive without that steadfast cycle governed by the planetMars?"), be priests and ministers ("how could a woman give her blood for oursins"), or rabbis ("without the monthly loss of impurities, women remainunclean").>> Male radicals, left-wing politicians, and mystics, however, would insistthat women are equal, just different; and that any woman could enter theirranks if only she were willing to self-inflict a major wound every month("you MUST give blood for the revolution"), recognize the preeminence of menstrual issues, or subordinate her selfness to all men in their Cycle ofEnlightenment.>> Street guys would brag ("I'm a three-pad man") or answer praise from abuddy ("Man, you are lookin' good") by high-fiving and saying, "Yeah, man,I'm on the rag!">> TV shows would treat the subject at length. ("Happy Days": Richie andPotsie try to convince Fonzie that he is still "The Fonz," though he hasmissed two periods in a row.) So would newspapers. (SHARK SCARE THREATENSMENSTRUATING MEN. JUDGE CITES MONTHLY STRESS IN PARDONING RAPIST.) Andmovies. (Newman and Redford in "Blood Brothers!")>> Men would try to convince women that intercourse was more pleasurable at"that time of the month." Lesbians would be said to fear blood andtherefore life itself -- though probably only because they needed a goodmenstruating man.>> Of course, male intellectuals would offer the most moral and logicalarguments. How could a woman master any discipline that demanded a sense oftime, space, mathematics, or measurement, for instance, without that in-builtgift for measuring the cycles of the moon and planets -- and thus formeasuring anything at all? In the rarefied fields of philosophy andreligion, could women compensate for missing the rhythm of the universe? Orfor their lack of symbolic death-and-resurrection every month?>> Liberal males in every field would be kind to women: the fact that "thesepeople" have no gift for measuring life or connecting the universe, theliberals would explain, that should be punishment enough.

Double rainbow

Totally awesome, I snapped a couple of pictures while I could. It was incredible. The smaller had a diameter of about 20 miles and the larger about 10 miles more. They totally dominated the eastern dark sky. I had to stop driving when I saw that, take the shots and call a bunch of people so they can see out of their windows. Wow. What a sight!Nevertheless, I tried to reach one of the two pots of gold. I am still searching

I hate to b...

I hate to be a nag, but one of my pet peeves is starting to be people from ebay that sell stuff that is so smoky, you need to spray a whole package of fabreeze to get rid of the stench. I trade photographic equipment fairly often and 75% of the stuff I get smell like smoke. I just got a great looking black camera strap, so stinky that I almost fainted when I opened the package. Gee, I used to smoke too!Hint to ebay sellers: If you smoke, keep your stuff in a room you don't smoke in for a couple of weeks...

Name Analysis

I tried the name analysis thingy and it sounds similar to that personality test. Maybe I should think about it...Kinda scary! For one thing, I am a pesceterian and haven't eaten meat for years, so that part is wrong...----------------Your first name has given you a practical, logical, analytical approach to life and a great deal of patience. You enjoy working at anything of a mechanical or technical nature, and believe that what is worth doing is worth doing well. When you are interested in a project, you concentrate all your thoughts on it and do not appreciate being interrupted. This name creates a deliberate and methodical way of thinking and speaking; it takes you time to learn but, once you have mastered a subject, you do not forget it. You are very systematic in all you do and do not like to see things out of order; however, there is a tendency for you to be too fussy. There is a seriousness to your nature which could cause you to worry over your responsibilities, especially when confronted with change and uncertainty. You are overly fond of heavy foods such as meat, potatoes, breads and pastries and could suffer with stomach and intestinal disorders, constipation or boils.

Swirve Personality Test

That's what came out... I am not sure about that, but an NBA superstar I am not :-)------------------The Champion A Champion -- sounds pretty cool, right? Well, it is. Champions are at the forefront of every major change in society, and that's a pretty slick place to be. You generally want to be involved in things. Whatever's going on, you probably want to be a part of it. To you, life is exciting and the possibilities are endless. If you don't think so, you should -- because a person like you can accomplish anything. Emotion is a big part of your life. People consider you to be intense, or at the extreme, obsessive. You truly want to be independent and strong, and when you're not, you can get quite upset with yourself. That's OK, though. Everyone is entitled to some self-torture now and then. It's not easy to try to do everything at once, though. Makes you wish you lived on a planet with 30 hours a day, in a body that only needed four hours of sleep to get by. That's great and all to hope for, but it isn't going to happen. Instead, just chill out sometimes. Don't worry, be happy. Possible Careers: Journalist, Public Speaker Lisa says... People hate you. Oh, they may act like they love and adore you, but they don't. No one likes the person that can do anything and everything. Good at basketball? Great. Mastered underwater basketweaving in two hours? Excellent. Never had a zit? Bite me. Just remember that when you're holding your trophy, or the picture of yourself on the cover of a magazine, people below you get to feel the real emotions of love and happiness without wondering if it's because of the money they have. Possible Career: NBA Superstar

song for tonight

Ripplin' Waters, The NGDB I got rippling waters to wake me to the morning, my woman and love our tall pine trees are pointing us easily to heaven above Blue spruce flaming on the grate in the evening Takes the chill away fine Cut the telephone line and the story's the same There's an old red chair by our window That we found at a sale down the lane Some old women said they needed more room for the winter People like to pull out the stuffing when they sit down So it passes the time Cut the telephone line and the story's the same Blow like a bubble on a windy day Start to flutter when I hear you say That you feel to good to go away And you make me feel fine You've made my world a warmer place By the sparkle of your diamond face on a frayed spot, put a little lace And you make me feel fine Warm as the mountain sunshine On the edge of the snowline In a meadow of columbine Oh, little Jennifer, I'd give a penny for What you've got on your mind It seems like most of the time you're lying here dreaming. Maybe in your vision you've seen how our mission is slightly less than divine Cut the telephone line and the story's the same Yep, now rippling waters flow through pipes In the walls and they're keeping me warm And the closest I've been tomy family for days is our music You can silently stare in themorning sky It's like hearing her calling my name Cut the telephone line and the story might change

Song of the day

Well I'll be damned Here comes your ghost again But that's not unusual It's just that the moon is full And you happened to call And here I sit Hand on the telephone Hearing a voice I'd known A couple of light years ago Heading straight for a fall As I remember your eyes Were bluer than robin's eggs My poetry was lousy you said Where are you calling from? A booth in the midwest Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks You brought me something We both know what memories can bring They bring diamonds and rust Well you burst on the scene Already a legend The unwashed phenomenon The original vagabond You strayed into my arms And there you stayed Temporarily lost at sea The Madonna was yours for free Yes the girl on the half-shell Would keep you unharmed Now I see you standing With brown leaves falling around And snow in your hair Now you're smiling out the window Of that crummy hotel Over Washington Square Our breath comes out white clouds Mingles and hangs in the air Speaking strictly for me We both could have died then and there Now you're telling me You're not nostalgic Then give me another word for it You who are so good with words And at keeping things vague Because I need some of that vagueness now It's all come back too clearly Yes I loved you dearly And if you're offering me diamonds and rust I've already paid
